Robert McCollum, Adult Ballet Co-ordinator

Robert McCollum (Ballet Bob) trained in New York City and went on to dance professionally in both the US and Canada. Acclaimed for his expertise in teaching adults, Robert holds a Cecchetti Associate teaching qualification (with Distinction) and is a graduate of NBS’ Teacher Training Program.

Bartira Barreto

Bartira was born in Brazil and has also become a Canadian Citizen. She had her training with the Royal Academy of Dance while in Brazil, also took courses with the Cuban School, Cuballet, and extended her training in the North of England College of Dancing, where she had the opportunity to perform with their semi-professional company.

Katie Park

Katie Park is a graduate of Canada’s National Ballet School’s Teacher Training Program. Given her previous teaching experience, she was permitted to accelerate her progress through the program, graduating with Distinction. While training at NBS, Katie achieved her Cecchetti Associate teaching qualification with Distinction.

Elisabeth Leyds-Holmes

Elisabeth Leyds-Holmes is a graduate of both our Professional Ballet Program and our Teacher Training Program at Canada's National Ballet School. She has taught dance throughout Ontario with a focus on preparing students for Cecchetti examinations, and has also spent several summers teaching at The School of Dance in Ottawa.

Katya Robledo

Katya Robledo graduated with Distinction from Canada’s National Ballet School’s Teacher Training Program and was honoured with the Betty Oliphant Award, which pays tribute to the most promising graduate in the field of teaching. She began her career as professional dancer with the National Ballet of Mexico in 1991, where she worked under the direction of such renowned Ballet Masters as Fernando Alonso and David Howard.

Jillian Peever

Jillian's enthusiastic, musical and detailed approach has developed through her culmination of studies at the Teacher Training Program at Canada's National Ballet School, and at the School of Toronto Dance Theatre.

Emma Wilkinson

A three-time recipient of an Alberta Arts Scholarship, Emma started her dance training in Edmonton and continued at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, with Gabriela Komleva at the Leningrad Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia, and on full scholarship at l'École Supérieure de Danse du Québec, where she went on exchange to The Juilliard School and School of American Ballet in New York and graduated with a Diplôme d'Études Collégiales.

Nini Ho

Cheng-ni (Nini) Ho began her training in Taiwan, where she studied many different dance forms including Classical Ballet, Contemporary, Tap, Chinese Folk dance and Martial Arts. She has danced professionally with several different companies since moving to Toronto in 2010. Her repertoire includes George Balanchine’s Serenade, Martha Graham’s Step in the Street, as well as performances with the Canadian Opera Company.

Anne Cass

Anne is currently studying in the Teacher Training program at Canada’s National Ballet School. Originally from Toronto, she trained in the Claude Watson Arts Program at Earl Haig Secondary School specializing in ballet and modern. She then completed the Concurrent Education Program at Queen’s University, earning a BA (Hons) with distinction in English Language & Literature and a BEd.
