Keith Morino Panellist/From Self Realization to Leadership
Keith Morino was born in Toronto, Canada. He joined the National Ballet School at the age of 10 and graduated from the professional dance program in 1987. He began his professional dance career with the Nederlands Dans Theatre II in The Hague, Netherlands, in 1988, working with choreographers Jiri Kylian, Nacho Duato, Ohad Naharin, Paul Lightfoot and Philip Taylor, to name a few.
In 1991, he joined “Metros”, the dance company of Catalan choreographer Ramon Oller, where he remained until 1998. It was during his time with that company that his interest in teaching was sparked.
From 1998 till 2001 Keith combined freelance performing with choreography for dance, theatre and opera, and teaching in different European companies and conservatories.
In 2001 he joined the staff at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona, beginning as rehearsal assistant for the young pre-professional dance company ‘IT Dansa’ before joining the faculty of the Professional Dance Conservatory “Escola d’Ensenyament Secundari i Artístic, Conservatori Professional de Dansa”, (EESA/CPD) as a contemporary dance teacher.
Since 2009 Keith Morino has been the Artistic and Academic Director of EESA/CPD.
