Rachel Bar Panellist/ Empowerment through a Healthy Mindset During Transition

Rachel Bar graduated from Canada’s National Ballet School’s (NBS) Professional Ballet Program in 2002. Following graduation, she danced with English National Ballet and the Israel Ballet. After retiring from her performance career, she began her academic career, where she has focused her research on dance and health. Currently, she is completing her PhD in clinical psychology at Ryerson University and focusing her research on the physical and psycho-social benefits of dance for older adults. Rachel is also the Health Initiatives and Research Consult for NBS, and has helped the school facilitate its older adult initiatives, including their Dancing with Parkinson’s program (known as DwP@NBS), dance and dementia program (in partnership with Baycrest Health Sciences), and their 55+ Ballet program.
