Dance is a unique activity that supports the development of the whole child; it fosters expression, collaboration and creativity while developing fundamental aspects of physical literacy.

Sharing Dance in the Classroom & Community is a course focused on the applications of creative movement in elementary school and community program settings and their relationship to the development of physical literacy. The material covered will include dance as arts education, dance as physical education and dance as a cross-curricular learning tool.

This course is open to dance artists of all styles and backgrounds and we encourage people to bring their unique perspectives and expertise to the class. In addition to working in the studio, participants will have the opportunity to observe classes at local public schools and community centers. Scholarship opportunities are available by application.

Teachers who complete the course may have the opportunity to become a Sharing Dance Ambassador and deliver programs to children and youth, in school and community settings.
