James Langevin

Pianist

A past student of University Settlement Music & Arts School, James Langevin was the recipient of numerous scholarships towards both his violin and piano studies. After leaving University Settlement, James completed his teaching ARCT with the Royal Conservatory of Music and pursued his post-secondary studies at the Glenn Gould Professional School of the Royal Conservatory of Music, where he studied with Canadian piano virtuoso, Andrew Burashko.

 

For over a decade, James has been a dance class pianist for the National Ballet School. James is a long-time dance examination pianist for the Cecchetti Society and the Royal Academy of Dance.

 

In addition to his piano teaching studio, James also enjoys experimenting with sound design and textures by creating electronic music. He is both a composer and arranger, having written and recorded music for the Toronto Fringe Festival, Ryerson Act 2 Studio and the Alumnae Theater Company of Toronto.

Cats or dogs?: A dog person. I have a Weimaraner named Abby.
