Lin Zhou

Born in China, Lin Zhou was trained at the Beijing Dance Institute and joined Singapore Dance Theatre (SDT) upon her graduation. She performed and toured internationally with SDT, dancing principal and soloist roles in various classical ballets and contemporary works, including Aurora in Sleeping Beauty, Raymonda in Raymonda, Swanhilda in Coppélia and lead roles in Forgotten Land and Stamping Ground by Jiří Kylián. Lin then went into teaching and has taught at almost all the major arts colleges and institutes in Singapore, before coming to Toronto and graduating from NBS’ Teacher Training Program with Distinction and the Betty Oliphant Award.

Dream job as a kid: To be a professional dancer! 

What do you do in your free time?: Vacations, eating, reading, shopping and spending time with my family and friends.

Favourite travel destination: Peru, Switzerland, London, Paris, and Australia.
