Community Programs

Canada's National Ballet School offers a range of programs and services to the community, both within the school facilities on Jarvis Street in Toronto and to other communities in venues across Canada.

Children & Youth Classes (Associates Program)

Allows boys and girls in the Greater Toronto Area, age 5-17 years, to participate in after-school and weekend dance classes from mid-September to early June.

Adult Classes

Catering to adults of all ages and levels, the program features exceptional instruction and live piano accompaniment in state-of-the-art facilities. Classes are held from mid-September to early June.

"Studio to Stage" Summer Intensive

Open to dance students (ages 12-16) and teachers interested in gaining training and hands-on experience with NBS world-renowned Artistic staff.

Musicians' Mentoring

Offered at the beginning of each year, this five-day intensive program will hone the musician's skills as a dance accompanist.

Outreach

Movement and music workshops are scheduled for elementary school students and teachers in communities across Canada. Open Classes for young dancers are routinely offered as part of the National Audition Tour.

Other workshops, held annually, are an excellent opportunity for practicing dance teachers to learn new teaching techniques and connect and network with other dance professionals in the community.

A joint Outreach initiative between The National Ballet of Canada and Canada's National Ballet School, the YOU dance Project provides a three-tiered program to schools and students within the Greater Toronto Area.
