Open Stage PSP Open Stage Presentation (free)
On Wed April 4 at 5:00pm, NBS' Post Secondary Program (PSP) students will perform their next Open Stage Presentation! Join us for this chance to see our talented students dance both classical & contemporary works on stage at the Betty Oliphant Theatre. PBP students Spring Break at NBS
Students in NBS' Professional Ballet Program will be on Spring Break from April 5 – April 15, with classes resuming on Monday, April 16. Residence closes from April 7-14. We hope all of our students have a safe and happy break!
Spring Showcase 2012 Spring Showcase 2012
May 24-26, Spring Showcase 2012 will present the world premiere of a newly-commissioned work by internationally-renowned choreographer & NBS alumna, Aszure Barton. It will also feature the welcome return of Giselle, Erik Bruhn's Here We Come and rounding out the bill is the NBS debut of Brute, a solo work by NBS' Artist-in-Residence, Peggy Baker. Tickets go on sale to the general public on April 25.

Spring Showcase Revealed, April 16, 7:15-8:30pm: Join us for an insider's look at Spring Showcase 2012 focusing on Giselle and the new work by Aszure Barton. Cheryl Belkin Epstein, NBS' History of Ballet teacher, will provide historic context; a repétiteur and student will share their perspectives. A unique donor benefit. AP students Associates Program Corner
Two important April announcements for Associate Program students: All AP classes will be on Spring Break from April 6-15.  Regular AP classes will resume on Monday, April 16. Auditions for the AP are on Sunday, April 22 & Sunday, May 6. Register online or learn more...
IDD rehearsal International Dance Day
April 29 is International Dance Day and that can only mean one thing at NBS: it's flashmob time! Beginning with our Eaton Centre performance in 2010, IDD has evolved into a welcome tradition at NBS. This year's routine will be performed somewhere in downtown Toronto on Sunday, April 29. Keep checking our website, Facebook page & Twitter feed (#IDD2012) for details!
NBS facilities NBS will have our "Doors Open" once again
NBS will once again participate in Toronto's annual Doors Open event. Each year 100+ buildings throughout the GTA open their doors to the public for free! Each of Doors Open's buildings encompasses historic, cultural, architectural &/or social significance, and NBS' beautiful facilities are no exception. Doors Open will take place on Sat May 26, 10:00am – 5:00pm with free guided tours offered throughout the School.

The weather this month has been fabulous and as the students are busy preparing for the upcoming evaluations its been great to go out and enjoy the weather. We have also been very lucky to go and see two NBoC performances this month which has definitely been inspiring and a privilege! We also had a very fun St. Patrick's dress down day!
