Academics Back to School
Now that the holidays are done, it's time for all NBS students to come back to class! Our classrooms, hallways, residences and studios will be full again and we can't wait to welcome everyone! January 9 sees the return of our PBP students (excepting those in The Nutcracker) and our Associates Program classes. Adult Ballet students have been back in class since January 3. We look forward to seeing everyone again!
Observation Experience Winter Observation Experience
On March 8, enjoy one of our most popular donor events – the opportunity to watch NBS students in training. You'll see our students in class under the expert guidance of NBS' artistic staff as they develop their technique and performance skills. International Dance Day International Dance Day 2012
Since 2010 NBS has developed a wonderful International Dance Day tradition,celebrating the day with a flashmob dance performance somewhere in Toronto. Past venues have included the Eaton Centre and the Ontario Science Centre. We're planning another fun routine for 2012, stay tuned for more details soon!

Just in time for beginning Term II classes, we asked Ballet Bob to demonstrate some of his tried and true warm-up exercises, created by NBS' neuromuscular consultant, Irene Dowd. Check it out on NBS' YouTube channel to give it a try.
The Tutu Project The Tutu Project
As part of The National Ballet of Canada's 60th Anniversary Celebrations, the company, along with its Volunteer Committee, friends, networks and professional designers, is to create a collection of 60 original tutus, one for each year of the company's history. NBS is proud to have contributed a tutu created by NBS graduate Sonia Dvorak and former Costumer Designer Natalie Leung. Learn more about The Tutu Project.
The National Ballet School of Cuba NBS & The National Ballet School of Cuba
NBS has long had a close relationship with the National Ballet School of Cuba, located in Havana. During NBS' 50th anniversary, Cuba was one of our international partner schools who participated in the Assemblée Internationale 2009. This year, 2011/2012, sees The National Ballet School of Cuba celebrating its 50th anniversary! We send our congratulations to all our friends in Havana on this momentous milestone!
