2013/14 National Audition Tour National Audition Tour Registration is Now Open
Registration for the 2013/2014 National Audition Tour, presented by Sun Life Financial, is now open. Register online for both open classes and auditions. Early registration is encouraged as there is limited space available in both open classes and auditions.
Teacher Training Program Dance Teacher Training Information Day
Those interested in becoming a classically trained ballet teacher are invited to our inaugural Teacher Training Program Day (TTP Day) at NBS on Saturday, September 28. Students will have an opportunity to learn about our specialized post-secondary program for dance pedagogy, with a focus on the teaching of classical ballet. Culture Days Culture Days are this weekend!
NBS is proud to participate in the 2013 Culture Days event happening September 28 and 29. We're offering a range of classes on Sunday, from ballet to Bollywood, so check out the list and register now! Observation classes don't require registration. They'll be held in the Betty Oliphant Theatre, 404 Jarvis Street on Saturday, from 10am–2:15pm.

Associates students Associates Program
The Associates Program is well into the new school year. Please note the following: classes will not be running over Thanksgiving Weekend – October 11 through 14 inclusive, and Pointe classes start immediately following Thanksgiving Weekend. Be sure to book your Pointe shoe fitting at The Shoe Room.
The Nutcracker Nutcracker auditions
Students with a background in dance and who are in grades 8 and up may audition for roles in the Act 1 Battle Scene of The National Ballet of Canada's The Nutcracker. Registration begins at 12:00pm on Sunday, October 6, with auditions starting at 1:00 pm and ending at 4:00pm. Learn more...

PBP students Fall Pre-Observation Reception & Experience
Thursday, October 24, 10:00am – Donors who give at the Benefactors' level ($1,000) and above are invited to attend an informative pre-observation conversation with a member of the NBS Artistic Staff, followed by a visit to the studio to observe the students hard at work in dance class. Cheryl Belkin Epstein and NBS students will be seen in a brief video prior to The Royal Ballet's production of Don Quixote, coming live from The Royal Opera House on Wednesday, October 16 at 7pm. Check the Cineplex website for showings.
Creative Dance for the Very Young Creative Dance for the Very Young
Mary Ann Lee, Director of the Virginia Tanner Creative Dance Program and the Children's Dance Theatre at the University of Utah will give a demonstration class and workshop on Sunday, October 27, 10am-1pm. All dance teachers are welcome to register, fee $65. Learn more or register online.
