Creative Challenge, Museum Suite 2015
On June 13, 16 & 19, the next and final set of the 2015 Creative Challenge performances will take place at the Royal Ontario Museum and at the Gardiner Museum. Check NBS’ website for full details and to learn more about this year’s choreographers.
Gardiner Museum & NBS present TENSIONS
On Friday, June 19, the Gardiner Museum Young Patrons Circle (YPC) and NBS’ First Position Patrons will present TENSIONS - a party featuring dance and visual arts, and celebrating the launch of the Gardiner’s new YPC and NBS’ Creative Challenge. Dancing with Parkinson’s live stream broadcasts
A series of live streamed broadcasts will be available in June. They’ll include: a discussion with Dr. Stanley Fisher, concerning his research in respect to Parkinson’s; a performance by Dancing for PD participants in Brooklyn; and a video featuring NBS’ DwP participants on Sharing Dance Day. Sharing Dance Day a Success!
On May 24, NBS presented Sharing Dance Day at Yonge-Dundas Square. Along with charity partners, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto, Parkinson Society Canada and World Animal Protection, the NBS Convergence Crew performed the “Hideaway” routine three times to a full crowd. It was an incredible afternoon focused on celebrating dance and its many benefits. Stay tuned for the performance video (coming soon)!

The Shoe Room will be starting its Summer Hours as of June 1, 2015. The Summer Hours will be in effect for the months of June, July, and August.

Sunday and Monday: CLOSED

Toronto 2015 Pan Am / Parapan Am Games
On July 15 at the Betty Oliphant Theatre, NBS is proud to present of the People, a commission by the TORONTO 2015 Pan AM/Parapan AM Games arts and culture festival, PANAMANIA presented by CIBC. Ideas Exchange 2015: Professional Development for Dance Teachers
NBS' 2015 Ideas Exchange from July 27 – 30 will feature:
  • Strategies to develop expression and artistry in dance students through the exploration of épaulement
  • Sessions with: Sorella Englund, world renowned dramatic artist, teacher and repetiteur; & Sergiu Stefanschi, internationally renowned teacher and NBS Faculty member
