Professional Dancers' Program

The Professional Dancers' Program is designed to guide professionals into new careers as teachers/ ballet masters/mistresses. A One-Year Certificate or a Two-Year Diploma Program is available to professional dancers with at least five years' experience in a classically based company.

Curriculum

The curriculum includes a broad range of dance-related subjects, including: Anatomy, Communications, Conditioning, Creative Dance, History of Art, History of Dance, Music for Dance, NBS Curriculum, Pointe Work, Practicum, and Teaching Methodology in Action. In addition, students observe and assist NBS Faculty with ballet classes.

Accreditation

Graduates receive the TTPPD (Cert) NBS or TTPPD (Dip) NBS.

Entrance Requirements

Admission is based on previous professional experience including 5 years in a classically-based company, as well as a DVD submission. Applicants may also be asked to attend the four-day assessment held at NBS in May 1-4, 2011.
