An Update about Programs at NBS

As you may know, the World Health Organization has declared the COVID-19 situation a pandemic. At Canada’s National Ballet School (NBS), the health and safety of our community—including students, staff and visitors—is our first priority.

Given the growing concerns around COVID-19, and in order to maintain the safest environment for all, NBS had made the incredibly difficult decision to pause all programs until further notice, including:
  • Professional Ballet-Academic Program
  • Post-Secondary Program
  • Teacher Training Program
  • Associates Program
    • Associates Program auditions on March 22 and April 19 have also been postponed
  • Adult Ballet Program
  • All Community Dance Programs
  • Facilities Rentals

While we regret to share this deeply disappointing news, during this continued and unprecedented unfolding of events, we feel this is the most responsible way to support broader efforts to protect public health and ensure the safety of our students and staff.

As you know, news around COVID-19 is changing daily and hourly. At this time, we cannot anticipate how long this programming suspension will last, and we ask for your patience as we continue to work through the logistics of these unprecedented circumstances.

We know that this is a challenging time for all and that you may have questions. Please email info@nbs-enb.ca or connect with the NBS program lead if you are enrolled in any of the affected programs:

We encourage all of our community to monitor and follow recommendations from public health authorities. Please visit our website for reliable sources and a message on how to stay healthy
