Veronica Tennant Panellist/Empowerment Through a Healthy Mindset During Transition
As Principal Dancer with The National Ballet of Canada for 25 years, Veronica Tennant, won hearts and accolades for her dramatic talents performing with such luminaries as Rudolf Nureyev and Mikhail Baryshnikov. Since 1989, she has garnered acclaim as a filmmaker, producer/director - winning several awards, including the International Emmy for Karen Kain: Dancing in the Moment. Veronica has written two children’s books published by M&S, and served as Canada’s National Ambassador for UNICEF since 1992. Her extensive list of programs for camera is highlighted by: Shadow Pleasures, Celia Franca: Tour de Force, and Vida y Danza, Cuba. For stage; Veronica was Movement Director/Choreographer for the theatrical adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s The Penelopiad, a collaboration between Britain’s RSC and Canada’s NAC – and she conceived and directed, NIÁGARA~ A Pan-American Story, commissioned by PANAMANIA Arts and Culture for TO2015. In 2003, Veronica Tennant was elevated from Officer, to Companion of the Order of Canada.
