The National Audition Tour Launches
On Tuesday, November 3, the 2015/2016 National Audition Tour, presented by Sun Life Financial, hits the road! The Tour will kick off in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with Open Classes and Auditions taking place at the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts. NBS staff will travel coast to coast, stopping in 19 cities across the country. Associates Program
The Nutcracker rehearsals are underway for AP students. Students are also preparing for first term Parent Viewing Days, December 7 - December 13, 2015. For more information, please check the 2015-2016 AP Handbook.
New Registration for Adult Ballet
NBS is migrating to a new mobile-friendly registration portal. Adult Ballet is the first of our programs to make the move – we welcome you to open your account and sign up for Term II classes when our portal goes public! The link to Adult Ballet registration for Term II classes (beginning the week of January 4) will be available on the Adult Ballet webpage as of Wednesday, November 18.
New 55+ Class Beginning in January
Beginning in the New Year, NBS will introduce a new class for those 55+ years who are new to ballet. More of a ballet ‘experience’ than a straight up class. Registration opens on NBS’ website November 18. Stay tuned for details.
Culture Talks event, November 12
Ontario is holding public consultations on arts and culture. NBS’ Currie Hall is the venue for one of the events on November 12 at 7:30pm. All are welcome to participate in these discussions. For more information.
Cineplex Front Row Centre Events Dance Series
NBS is once again partnering with Cineplex's FRCE Dance Series to show short videos about NBS before their films. This month, the Cineplex Dance Series will present the following performances in Canadian theatres: Viscera / Afternoon of a Faun / Tchaikovsky pas de deux / Carmen by The Royal Ballet on Sunday, November 15; and Jewels by The Bolshoi Ballet on Sunday, November 28. Supporter's Meeting/10th Anniversary Celebration
November 26 will see NBS' community mark the 10-year anniversary of the completion of Project Grand Jeté. Supporters will be treated to a student presentation followed by a panel discussion with key PGJ stakeholders in the Betty Oliphant Theatre. Invitations are in the mail and RSVPs, are being accepted now.
Sergiu Stefanschi to Receive Recognition
NBS Artistic faculty Sergiu Stefanschi returns to Romania to receive the city of Iasi's 3rd annual, Opera and Ballet award. Given to those in the arts community who've contributed to their art form, either in Romania or internationally, Stefanschi will be presented his award at a Gala this month. Presenting him with his medal will be former schoolmate, and dance partner, Elena Dacian. This is Stefanschi's second major recognition from his country of birth. In 2002 he received the Order of the Star of Romania (Chevalier grade) from the Romanian Government.

The BE CALM Protocol
