One of the key goals of Sharing Dance is to improve access to quality dance education for young Canadians. Canada's National Ballet School (NBS) brings healthy, fun and creative dance activities to children and youth who would not otherwise have the opportunity to experience dance.
Working in partnership with Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities, NBS instructors have been teaching dance to students in underserved communities in Toronto. Through this experience, many of these students have discovered that they have both a talent and passion for dance.
Thanks to the William R. and Shirley Beatty Charitable Fund, five students have begun weekly classes with NBS’ Associates Program. They are  taking ballet and jazz classes in the School’s state-of-the-art facilities. These young dancers  show wonderful enthusiasm and promise, and will hopefully continue pursuing dance for many years to come. Whether the students pursue dance professionally or as a hobby, NBS is thankful to its supporting partners for introducing the opportunity through the Sharing Dance program.  As Sharing Dance continues to grow, NBS looks forward to more and more Canadians across the country being given the same opportunity.
