Sharing Dance for Active Seniors
In collaboration with Baycrest Health Sciences, leaders in healthcare for seniors, NBS has developed a safe and accessible dance program for active seniors to support them in their health and wellness goals.
The program is currently being piloted in the Peterborough, ON region and offers both standing and seated dance options in a community setting. Sharing Dance for Active Seniors ensures opportunities for both physical and social engagement for all participants.
Further, in partnership with Trent University’s Centre for Aging & Society, NBS is bringing the benefits of dance to seniors by testing three delivery models:
- Livestreaming classes to community care centres
- Livestreaming classes to individual homes
- In-person delivery
Our goal is to provide the highest quality dance programming for seniors — focused on safety and improving physical and psycho-social wellbeing — that can scale across different communities and group settings within Sharing Dance’s value system.
