Casablanca Casablanca Gala a Success!
On February 7th, NBS sponsors and donors came out in their finest 1940's attire to make this year's Casablanca Gala a fundraising success! NBS' Gala directly supports student financial assistance and helps the School raise 30% of its annual fundraising goal in a single night. Click here to see photos from this fun-filled evening!
Dance to Make a Difference!

Pioneering Pioneering Women Raising the Barre
On March 6, Pioneering Women will present Raising the Barre - an inspirational evening with Mavis Staines, NBS Artistic Director/CEO and Emily Molnar, NBS alumna and Ballet BC Artistic Director. Tickets are $20 for Pioneer Members and $25 for non-members, with a portion of proceeds supporting NBS. Visit here for more information.

Young British Dancer of the Year Award Young British Dancer of the Year Award
NBS Artistic Director & CEO, Mavis Staines has been selected to head the Jury for this year’s Young British Dancer of the Year Award, to be celebrated in London, UK on March 8. This annual classical dance competition will take place at the Linbury Studio Theatre, Royal Opera House Covent Garden.
Peter Dwyer Scholarships Peter Dwyer Scholarships
Congratulations to NBS senior students James Nix, Calley Skalnik, Jimmy Coleman, Keito Yamamoto, Zoe Michalik, Spencer Hack and Manuel Garrido who are the recipients of this year’s Peter Dwyer Scholarships! These scholarships are awarded annually to students at NBS and the National Theatre School of Canada in Montreal.

Cineplex Front Row Centre Dance Series
Cineplex will be showing three great dance performances in March. The Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s Moulin Rouge will be broadcast on March 8, followed by the Royal Opera House’s Sleeping Beauty on March 19, and the Bolshoi Ballet’s Marco Spada, showing on March 30. Adult Ballet Program
Term III registration for Adult Ballet classes opens March 12th for current students. New students who would like to join us should sign up on our Adult Ballet Contact List for early bird registration information.
NBS’ Summer School Program
2014 auditioning students as well as those travelling to NBS for our Summer Exchange Program must have forms to us by March 20.
Associates Program
AP Evaluations continue until March 5th. A reminder to all AP families that classes will run as regularly scheduled throughout the month of March, as AP does not observe March Break. Auditions for prospective AP students will be held on Sunday April 27 & Sunday May 25. Registration will open at the end of March on our website.
