An Affair to Remember, March 6, 2015
Join us for An Affair to Remember, at The Carlu for an evening in support of NBS. Inspired by the 1957 film, the Gala promises the best of the 50’s era. It will once again feature a cocktail reception, four-course meal, live student performance, luxury raffle draw, casino and lounge!
Sharing Dance 2015
Next year’s Sharing Dance Day has been set for May 24, 2015. NBS has started to create the 2015 Sharing Dance routine, which will be filmed in November. Once the music is selected, we’ll be sharing more information about the routine and upcoming rehearsals. We’re also happy to announce that NBS’ charity partners from last year (Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto, Parkinson Society Canada, and World Animal Protection) will once again be taking part in the day.
The Play Exchange
CBC has begun filming for The Play Exchange TV special that will air in January! At that time, you’ll be able to vote for Sharing Dance as Canada’s favourite innovation, to be awarded up to $1 million. Look for NBS in the preview videos when they’re made available on The Play Exchange and on CBC later this month.
Creative Challenge
Last June, six NBS students joined forces with artistic collaborators from different disciplines to present free public dance performances across Toronto for the first-ever Creative Challenge. These highly creative and inspirational performances that brought ballet to the heart of the community, can now be relived again by watching NBS’ latest video.
Cineplex Front Row Centre Events’ Dance Series
You’ll want to attend the Bolshoi Ballet’s production of The Pharoah’s Daughter, on Thursday, November 20 in Cineplex theatres across Canada. A short video about NBS will once again be shown before this Dance Series film. Be sure to check your local Cineplex listings.
The Shoe Room
A new shopping experience! Starting this November, parents and students can purchase all their dance accessories through The Shoe Room’s vending machine located in the Celia Franca Centre. Be sure to check it out.
