410 Jarvis

New Building Sets the Stage for Campus Expansion

The building at 410 Jarvis is a new acquisition for the School, embracing a bold vision for the future. The building is part of a long-term plan to physically expand and increase access to our programs while creating vibrant spaces for public engagement and benefit.

In the short-term, 410 Jarvis offers subsidized rent for flexible administrative office space, supporting and building capacity for the wider dance sector. This model meets a very real and significant need in the community (particularly for flexible coworking spaces adjacent to world-class dance studios they could access).

Since acquiring 410 Jarvis, NBS has partnered with Dance Umbrella Ontario, a not-for-profit, sector service organization, to utilize the facility as a flexible space for underserved artists and companies in Toronto's dance community.

Long term goals for the building include an expansive vision for our Toronto campus, further driving our professional ballet training programs to new heights; making dance and ballet more accessible and relevant; providing platforms and spaces for a plurality of artistic voices; and offering new creative hubs for multi-sectoral engagement and arts-driven social enterprise.
