Sapna Goel

Chief of Brand and Advancement

Sapna Goel is a storyteller who thrives most when she is creating content for social good. She is a brand and content strategist, and communications and marketing professional with more than 20 years of experience in the public, non-profit and social business sectors, along with extensive work with corporate and educational partners.

As Chief of Brand and Advancement at Canada’s National Ballet School (NBS), a leading arts organization in Canada and recognized internationally for its leadership in training and education, she leads multiple teams with oversight on national and international brand strategies, marketing, participant engagement, philanthropy, donor stewardship and storytelling. She’s developed her leadership style through values of curiosity collaboration, kindness and a learning mindset—all of which she encourages among her teams.

She first joined NBS in 2018 as Director of Brand Engagement and Content, growing teams and capacity for NBS’ brand to have increasingly broader and deeper reach across Canada and with partners around the world. She deeply values and aligns with the organization’s commitment to translating the cultural capital ballet wields and the privileges that an established arts training organization holds to making dance and all of its associated benefits accessible to all Canadians. Equity and inclusion are core to NBS’ focus on demonstrating the power of dance in developing globally conscious, actively engaged artists, and on sharing the transformative impact of creative movement with people of all ages and abilities.

Sapna’s career has been focused on content and communications that empower young people in developing their unique leadership voices to make the world a better place. Prior to NBS, she held leadership roles in brand, editorial, creative and communications with the international charity, Free The Children, and the social enterprise, Me to We; and learned from strong mentors in her communications and program management roles at the Peel District School Board. Sapna has collaborated as editor on several book and editorial projects, and written several articles for small publications. She holds a journalism degree from Toronto Metropolitan University and a degree in political science and comparative literature from Western University.
