Avinoam Silverman was born in Jerusalem, Israel and began his training at The Jerusalem Rubin Academy of Music and Dance. At 16 he moved to Toronto to continue his studies at Canada’s National Ballet School. He graduated in 1996 and joined The National Ballet of Canada. He became a member of the Corps de Ballet in 1997 and was promoted to Second Soloist in 2004. While with the company he has danced in numerous roles including the White Couple in Forgotten Land, Mercutio in Rome and Juliet, Prince Ivan in the Fire Bird and The Organ Duet in Soldiers Mass to name a few. In 2009 Avinoam retired from The National Ballet of Canada. In 2012 he graduated from the Teacher Training Program at Canada's National Ballet School and received his Diploma for teaching.

What do you do in your free time? In my free time I like to meditate and also work on my choreographic projects. 

What song do you always have on repeat? It is always the music I'm creating a new choreography to I listen to it over and over again.
