Toronto is a vibrant city that truly comes alive in the summer, and NBS plans a variety of optional social excursions for participants to experience art, culture, and recreation beyond the NBS campus.

These field trips are chaperoned by NBS staff and can include popular attractions like Ripley’s Aquarium or local recreational spots like Woodbine Beach.

Exceptional Facilities

Exceptional Facilities

NBS’ award-winning campus in the heart of downtown Toronto includes the Celia France Centre, a state-of-the-art training facility that feature 13 studios and Currie Hall, an on-site residence just steps away. Students take their meals in both buildings and there is ample space for students to lounge and connect when they’re not training.

Additionally, our campus includes The Betty Oliphant Theatre, a fully-equipped performance space and venue, and The Shoe Room, a ballet boutique that shares NBS’ pointe shoe fitting expertise and offers the largest selection of pointe shoes in Canada.

Artistic Health

Artistic Health

Our one-of-a-kind Artistic Health Department supports all aspects of our students' health and wellbeing, and is informed by groundbreaking studies in dance at NBS’ Research Institute

Our onsite specialists include nurse practitioners, physiotherapists, psychiatrists, social workers and nutritionists; consultants are also available to individual students upon request.

Also, a pediatrician is on call and consulted as needed. As an arts education and training organization, we understand the responsibility of supporting student health and wellness, especially given the demands of Olympic-calibre training.

Our Artistic Health Department supports the full circle of care for dancers.
