Anne Mette de Place Filippini is Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer at Burgundy Asset Management, one of Canada’s leading independent investment firms. She joined the firm in 2008 as Vice President and Portfolio Manager for Emerging Markets equities, and was appointed Senior Vice President in 2012 and Deputy Chief Investment Officer in 2018.
She has more than 20 years of experience in investment management. From 2000-2008, she was with AIC Investment Services as Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager. Prior to this, Anne Mette worked 8 years in strategy consulting with both Monitor Group and Braxton Associates, the strategy consulting group of Deloitte.
Anne Mette received her MA in Economics in 1992 from the University of Copenhagen, earning part of her degree at the London School of Economics. Anne Mette has been a member of the Board of Directors of Canada’s National Ballet School Foundation since 2007. She served 8 years as Treasurer and served as President from 2020-2021. She is also a trustee of the AGO Foundation Board. In 2006, she received the Arbor Award from the University of Toronto for outstanding volunteer service.
