Board Chair, Friends of Canada’s National Ballet School Board (US), retired

Brian Miron retired from Fidelity Investments/Pyramis Global Advisors in 2015, after 15 years with the firm as a portfolio manager responsible for managing $20 billion in fixed-income investments on behalf of Canadian investors.  

 

Brian is currently involved with numerous non-profits including, NBS (Board and Pension Committee Member), Friends of Canada’s National Ballet School (the school’s U.S. charitable foundation where he serves as President), Circus Smirkus (Board and Finance Committee Member), and previously served on the Boards of The University of St. Michael’s College (Collegium Member and Chair of the Investment Committee), The University of Toronto (Business Board Member), Flying Gravity Circus (Board Member and Treasurer), and Opera New Hampshire (Board Member and Treasurer). 

 

Before joining Fidelity in 2000, Brian was a vice-president at RBC Dominion Securities in Toronto (5 years) and prior to that a senior credit analyst for Dominion Bond Rating Service (5 years) and an Economist for the Province of Ontario (2 years). Brian received a B.Com. in finance in 1989 and an M.A. in economics in 1990, both from the University of Toronto. He was a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder, Notary Public (retired) and a Justice of the Peace (retired). He currently resides in Toronto. Brian has been on the FCNBS Board since its founding in 2006.
