Before joining NBS in 2020, Heather McCarthy taught in South Korea, Taiwan, and Australia. She taught English as a Second Language to international adults at post-secondary language programs in Toronto and can confidently say that she has taught ages 4 to 74. During the pandemic, Ms. McCarthy taught NBS’s grade 7s from her living room.

Ms. McCarthy has an Honours Degree in Public Affairs and Policy Management specializing in Human Rights from Carleton University and she earned her Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Wollongong in Australia specializing in English and Legal Studies.

Today you can find Ms. McCarthy at any of the parks and playgrounds around Toronto where she spends time with her husband and daughter.

Fun Fact: It is a goal of Ms. McCarthy’s to visit every provincial capital.
