Yoo Sang Hong

Ballet Staff

A native of Seoul, South Korea, Yoo Sang is a graduate of both the Professional Ballet Program and the Teacher Training Program for professional dancers at Canada's National Ballet School. He graduated from both programs with distinction and is a recipient of the prestigious Betty Oliphant Award.

 

As a professional dancer, Yoo Sang has danced with Alberta Ballet, Canada's Ballet Jorgen, and Royal Winnipeg Ballet. He performed many soloist roles in classical and contemporary works by choreographers such as Jean Grand-Maître, Ben Stevenson, Jiří Kylián, and Bengt Jörgen.

 

Before returning to Toronto to attend the Teacher Training Program, Yoo Sang was a guest teacher at Alberta Ballet School and Alberta Ballet, as well as a faculty member at the Okanagan Summer Dance Intensive.

Cats or dogs?: Dogs! Dogs are needy and give nothing but endless love.
