Who are the NBS Alumni?
Like many schools, Canada's National Ballet School boasts a vibrant Alumni community. Because studying, working or volunteering at NBS is a unique experience, our alumni community is open to everyone who has been involved with the School and we are very proud of its diversity and its inclusion.
As NBS settles into its award-winning new facilities, the Alumni have the exciting opportunity to create a niche for their legacy, and to develop future programs. Every student who attends NBS for one year or more becomes a member of the NBS Alumni Community. Former Full-time and/or Part-time staff members including teachers, administrative and pianists are also considered NBS Alumni.
Are you an NBS alum? What do you remember from your days at NBS?
We want to connect with as many members of our alumni community as possible! We share a unique history and incredible experiences that would be invaluable to 'give forward'. Our goal is to create an ongoing dialogue with fellow alumni, to create networks and provide open communication between NBS' past, present and future. Maintaining a database of our alumni information is critical, but keeping in touch is a challenge! We are constantly trying to locate former students, graduates and staff. We need to update our current information, and we need your help!
As we head towards NBS' 50th Anniversary celebrations, we are gathering NBS memories. What do you think about when you remember your time at the School? Have you lost touch with someone you wish you were still connected to? Is there one particular teacher or class that influenced you? Send us your memories of NBS, and we'll make them a part of our 50th Anniversary Alumni Reunion.
Sign up and we'll email you information about our reunion plans and other NBS-related information.
Our 50th Anniversary Reunion is the catalyst for establishing an NBS Alumni Council that will focus on developing programs such as mentorship, job opportunity networks, and alumni recognition and celebration.
if you'd like to participate!
Some of the alumni have shared their photographs of the reunion weekend and we are thrilled to see so many familiar faces from previous years amongst those images. We must ask for your support though in ensuring that any images of current students (taken either in studio classes, or on the theatre's stage) should not be shared. Information was posted in the school over the Alumni weekend requesting no photos be taken of students in class, but we understand that some images were taken with no knowledge of this request. As we are entrusted by the parents to protect their children, and their privacy, we're sure you'll understand our need in making this request and am sure you'll help us maintain it.
