After graduating from Nipissing University with both her Bachelors of Education and Bachelor of Arts Honours, Meaghan began teaching in a small private school that catered to students with extra learning needs, including young athletes. Meaghan teaches history and geography and is interested in European Medieval and Early Modern History.
Sarah Burchmore studied voice at The University of Toronto and The University of St Andrews in Scotland. Her career as a music and history teacher has taken her to Haiti, Quebec, and most recently independent schools in the Toronto area. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to teach music at NBS.
Nikki Chabrol, Academic Administrative Assistant, has been associated with NBS since the early 90's, when he began as a volunteer at special events, such as the annual Gala, Spring Showcase and Music Night. Nikki began working at NBS in 2004 as Marketing Assistant, and then moved to the Shoe Room, before joining the Academic department in 2005.
Joyce Zhu joined Canada's National Ballet School's academic teaching staff in 2009. Currently she teaches ESL. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree with a specialization in Biochemistry from Queen's University, a Bachelor of Education degree from Queen's University, and a Master of Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto.
Jessica Dreisziger has been teaching at Canada's National Ballet School since 2004. She teaches biology, chemistry, science and mathematics. Jessica holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Education degree from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education.
Ashleigh Dwight joined NBS in the fall of 2016 as the Visual Arts and Academic Resource teacher. Ashleigh has a Bachelor of Arts in Art History, a Bachelor of Education, and she is currently working on her Master of Education. In addition to teaching, Ashleigh has 15 years of experience coaching synchronized swimming, and she spent three years living abroad and coaching swimmers on the Swiss national synchronized swimming team.
Cheryl Belkin Epstein
Cheryl Belkin Epstein is the Developer of Creative Resources and Ballet Historian at Canada’s National Ballet School. In this capacity, her responsibilities include teaching the History of Dance in both the Professional Ballet and Teacher Training Programs and co-coordinating Career Planning for the senior students.
As the academic photography teacher and Yearbook Coordinator for NBS seniors, Lisa Fleischmann applies her multidisciplinary background from the creative industry and the area of team leadership.
David Lipinski began teaching senior math at NBS in the year 2010, and in 2011 started teaching intermediate science as well. He graduated from York University, doing both his undergraduate program and teacher training there. In his spare time he enjoys creative writing, playing basketball and long walks on the beach.
In 1999 Michael Locke joined the academic staff at NBS to teach a variety of middle school subjects as well as ESL. Subsequently, he became the Teacher-Librarian and co-managed the professional ballet/academic library while developing and teaching the School's Information Studies curriculum.
